"a caterpillar doesn't just grow into a butterfly. a caterpillar must undergo metamorphosis, and a cocoon is where a caterpillar risks it all: enters total chaos, undergoes total rebuilding, and is born to a new way of living. only in taking the risk of entering that inert cocoon can the caterpillar go from dormancy to potency, from ugliness to beauty."

sandwich?

metro manila development authority's warning:
"walang tawiran. nakamamatay."
(no crossing. deadly.)

when i first saw that warning on huge bright pink sign boards put up by MMDA along metro manila's busy streets, i laughed. i somehow found them funny.

not anymore.

i've heard from a dorm wingmate that just recently, two ladies died when they got "sandwiched" between two buses along commonwealth avenue (near the iglesia ni cristo church, right in front of a huge "walang tawiran. nakamamatay." warning and near the overpass just outside UP).

tsk, tsk, tsk.

learn to heed warnings. they're not for naught.

that means... i should NOT dare cross EDSA again, no matter what the time of day, no matter what my confidence level is, no matter what...except via an overpass. bow.
